Osteopathy is an established healthcare approach that aims to restore and optimize the body's natural self-healing mechanisms. Osteopaths, are highly skilled and registered healthcare professionals, who diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions by using manual techniques to manipulate the musculoskeletal system. and take into account the interconnectedness of the body's systems. They not only focus on treating specific symptoms but also consider the impact of lifestyle, ergonomics, and emotional factors on a patient's health. Osteopathy can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including back and neck pain, sports injuries, arthritis, joint pain, and postural problems.

Osteopaths in the UK undergo rigorous training, which includes in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and clinical skills. They provide a comprehensive assessment of the patient's medical history, lifestyle, and physical condition to identify the root causes of pain and dysfunction in the body.

Using their hands, osteopaths employ a variety of techniques such as soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilization, and stretching to address musculoskeletal issues. By restoring proper alignment, improving circulation, and reducing tension, they aim to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being.

Osteopaths often work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as general practitioners, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, nutritionists, and podiatrists, to provide integrated and comprehensive care for their patients.

Traditional acupuncture is a healthcare system based on ancient principles which go back nearly two thousand years. Acupuncture works to help maintain your body’s equilibrium. For a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, Qi can become distressed, exhausted, stagnant or blocked, which can result in symptoms of some pain and illness or disease. In certain instances, traditional acupuncture can be an effective therapy to help re-establish balance and promote physical and emotional harmony.

Within a session it can be used in combination with Tuina massage and other useful tools such as cupping, moxibustion, guasha and electro-acupuncture. Depending on the requirements of the client.

Acupuncture works to help maintain your body’s physical and emotional balance. It involves the insertion of sterile fine needles (one-use) into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of Qi, your body’s natural energy system. Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of wellbeing.

Massage reduces muscle tension and relieves pain/soreness, increases mobility, improves circulation, treats injuries, and reduces stress. Through manual manipulation of the body's soft tissues, using a wide range of techniques, it can be used to support general health or tissue healing for specific conditions, promote faster recovery, optimise physical/sports performance, and induce relaxation to enhance overall mental well-being .

We offer two main types of massage.

Classical Massage Therapy includes Remedial massage, Sports massage and Swedish massage techniques such as flowing strokes, kneading, friction and tapping (known as effleurage and petrissage), trigger point work, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, stretching, and joint mobilization. This is often used as part of an Osteopathic or Physiotherapy consultation, and:

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) massage called Tuina, which has been practiced for thousands of years. It utilizes rhythmic compression, acupressure, and stretching techniques to balance the body's energy flow, a concept known as Qi. It targets specific acupressure points and meridians to stimulate circulation, release tension, and restore the body's natural balance, and can be used in combination with Acupuncture if you require, as well as other useful tools such as gua-sha and cupping.

Both approaches are used to address musculoskeletal problems, as well as many other health conditions, and sessions are customised to the client's preferences, ranging from a light and gentle touch to firmer, deep tissue pressure techniques as required. Both approaches can be used as a whole body massage, or focus on a specific area e.g. head, neck and shoulders, or lower back and legs, or a particular injury/condition. Both can be used as massage during pregnancy and can be combined with aromatherapy oils.

She strives to apply an integrated approach with her clients, devising personalised nutrition and lifestyle plans to help maintain well-being and educate clients about healthy eating habits.

Nicoletta also places importance on eating psychology, recognising that our relationship with food is a fundamental aspect of nutritional metabolism. She acknowledges the strong connection between our psychology and gastrointestinal symptoms, emphasising the gut-brain connection.

During the initial consultation, which typically lasts up to 90 minutes, Nicoletta will collaborate with you to establish your health goals and priorities. Discussions about food and lifestyle preferences and habits ensure that the recommendations are realistic, achievable, and enjoyable for you.

The second consultation usually takes 30-60 minutes, during which Nicoletta reviews the health plan to ensure clarity. Time frames are set for dietary experiments and supplement suggestions. Nicoletta may also provide a sharing sheet to monitor your progress and support you on your wellness journey.

The Follow-up consultation, scheduled 4 to 5 weeks after the initial session, again lasts for 30-60 minutes.
